In Trujillo, the communes promote local development and reaffirm the role of the people

In the state of Trujillo on November 23, the communes were activated in the 4th National Popular Consultation, a process convened at the national level and led by President Nicolás Maduro, aimed at strengthening citizen participation and decision-making from the communities themselves.

Beatriz Briceño, from the Diosescaque Community Circuit, in the Escuque municipality, confirmed that in just a few seconds the citizens of the 16 Community Councils can exercise their right to vote.

“I call on the members of my communal circuit to participate since projects are being chosen for the benefit of our community and its development depends on ourselves,” Briceño stressed.

He added that the purpose of this mechanism is to prioritize projects that meet essential needs related to public services, promoting local development and reaffirming the leadership of the people in managing solutions for their territory, focused mainly on the Plan for the Homeland of the Seven Transformations.
