“Nobody wants war, we don't want war,” emphasized Pedro Infante, first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), reaffirming the commitment of the Venezuelan people to the defense of peace during the installation of the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace — Caracas Chapter.
Infante stressed that the Council was created to unite the will of the country's active sectors at a time when external threats to national stability are intensifying.
“This is not about electoral or political opportunism,” he said. “It's about defending the sacred right to sovereignty and peace, in the face of military deployment in Caribbean waters by the North American Government.”
The parliamentarian emphasized that Venezuelans have prepared to defend peace, responding to the call of President Nicolás Maduro in the face of possible military aggression. In this regard, he reported that millions of men and women voluntarily enlisted in the Bolivarian Militia as an expression of patriotic commitment.
