During the regular session this Tuesday, the first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Pedro Infante, highlighted the extraordinary nature of the installation of the regional and sectoral chapters of the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, describing them as a true expression of national unity in defense of self-determination.
Infante reported that he participated in the activation of the workers' sectoral section, which was attended by more than 4,000 union delegates, representatives of unions, union federations and labor movements. “Comrades from the Bolivarian Socialist Workers Central were there, but also leaders of the Venezuelan Workers' Confederation (CTV). Beyond criticism of the Government, the whole country is being summoned,” he said.
The parliamentarian emphasized that this call transcended political, religious and ideological differences, bringing together business leaders, representatives of various churches, university rectors, cultural activists, intellectuals, young people and athletes. “We are willing to defend it with the truth, with arguments, with organization, with mobilization and with a lot of diplomacy,” he said.
Infante emphasized that the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace brings together the best of Venezuelan society and represents the sentiment of more than 95% of the population that rejects war and is committed to peace. “We are willing to defend it with the truth, with arguments, with organization, with mobilization and with a lot of diplomacy,” he said.
He called on parliamentarians and political actors to join this initiative without opportunism. “It's not about the situation, it's about the homeland. From the interparliamentary friendship groups, we must go on the offensive to bring the truth to Venezuela and defend the sacred right to keep our Republic in peace,” he concluded.
