This Tuesday, June 16, the president of the private company Thundernet, José Domingo La Candia, said that the growth of Internet service through fiber optics has been exponential and sustained, allowing for a 27.8% increase over the course of 2026.

During the program Facing the News, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisió n (VTV), La Candia stated that, despite the complex physical processes involved in the expansion of the fiber optic network, most areas have already been covered in states such as Barinas, Lara and Portuguesa; meanwhile, in Caracas, due to the complexity and diversity of the areas, full coverage has not yet been achieved.

He stated that the Venezuelan population's receptivity to his service is high, which is why this company, like the different fiber optic providers nationwide, strives to meet the requirements and technical characteristics that allow the user to enjoy a stable connection.

He stressed that the company, as part of the private sector, is willing to work hand in hand with the Venezuelan State.

He also highlighted the collaboration in the “Dark Zones” project, which is part of the National Telecommunications Plan 2025-2031 to eliminate areas without access to internet and telephony, with the purpose of ensuring connectivity in educational institutions, health centers and public spaces.
