This Friday, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States (USA) began new negotiations in the capital of Oman regarding the Iranian nuclear program under the threat of US military intervention in the Persian country.

“Nuclear talks between Iran and the United States have started in Oman,” Iranian media reported.

Telesur, highlighted that the Iranian delegation is led by the foreign minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, while the US delegation is headed by the special envoy of the White House, Steve Witkoff.

The Islamic Republic insists that negotiations are being carried out indirectly, without a face-to-face meeting between Araghchi and Witkoff, and with the Omani Foreign Minister, Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, as an intermediary.

Prior to the talks, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said that Tehran “is fully prepared to defend the country's sovereignty and national security in the face of excessive demands or adventures.”
