Iran's Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, reiterated that his country will not cease the uranium enrichment program, which he described as an inalienable power and expression of national autonomy.

During a statement to the media, he recalled that, despite the damage caused by the bombings of nuclear facilities on June 13, attributed to military actions by Israel and the United States, Tehran will continue to develop this technology. “We will not abandon enrichment,” he insisted.

Araqchi stressed that this scientific activity responds to the efforts of Iranian specialists and is protected by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Telesur reports.

Asked about the possibility of importing enriched uranium, the head of Persian diplomacy replied: “This is an achievement achieved with our own resources. There's no reason to buy what we can produce.”

The Iranian position on the peaceful use of nuclear technology, he said, is based on principles of self-determination. In that context, he urged Washington to resume dialogue as a way to address his country's nuclear program.
