The Commune as a synthesis of territorial Socialism, the thought of Commander Hugo Chávez, was the paper given this Thursday by the rector of the National University of the Communes, Jorge Arreaza, at the International School of Youth Leadership, in Miranda state.
Taking a tour of the history of Venezuela, Arreaza pointed out that in order to live in society, in the Commune, it is essential that everyone have a common feeling, as Simón Rodríguez pointed out in his time. “If there is no common feeling as a society, it doesn't even make sense that it exists (...) That's why we see that there are dead societies,” he said.
The Rector emphasized that Commander Hugo Chávez said that before the Bolivarian Revolution “we were not a people (...) Today we have a common project, shared with Bolivarian Socialism”.
Likewise, Arreaza spoke with the young students about the Liberator Simon Bolivar, the independence of Venezuela and other colonies; and then he talked about the French Revolution and its impact on the West. “All of these events had an impact on our identity,” he explained.
He stressed that Chávez designed a clear path to real Socialism, and it is that form of society that must prevail in every Commune and Community Council.
On the other hand, the vice-president of Community Councils and Communes of the PSUV, revealed that in communes there must be political organization, common participation and command in the hands of Popular Power.” The Street Government has to emerge, and that is not decreed. The important thing is that this is the central Government, that is the epicenter (of the Revolution). That is the level of consciousness that we have reached after all these years (...) Commune or nothing, said Chávez,” he said.
He confirmed that it is the people who should have power, “not the Mayor, not the Governor.”
It should be noted that part of the party's national youth leadership was present during the activity, and América Pérez, second vice-president of the National Assembly, also participated, who welcomed all the young people, as well as the PSUV youth electoral commissioners at the national level for the upcoming mayoral elections.
