The president of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, dedicated the commemoration of Venezuelan Independence Day, “to the mothers, grandmothers of our girls and boys kidnapped in the United States of America”.

Rodríguez mentioned the group of girls and boys kidnapped by the American empire, “on this day of freedom and sovereignty, we tell them: They are not alone and we will recover them, they are ours and they will return to their homeland.”

This was stated during the Solemn Session, held this Saturday, July 5, at the Federal Legislative Palace, on the occasion of the celebration of the 214th Anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence of Venezuela and Day of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

“Once we declared our Independence 214 years ago, the war came, which devastated our entire territory, but after so much destruction, the flashing voice of our Liberator appeared saying: “It's not just Spain, no foreign power will ever plunge into the sacred territory of Venezuela again.”

He argued that the Order Speech of the parliamentarian and historian Líonel Muñoz, “is the true story, knowing how we were and what we were in order to understand why we are the way we are”.

In that regard, he emphasized that currently, when “we have succeeded in defeating the vicious intentions of other new empires, we are stepping up to that victory, to say: We will be free and independent forever.”
