Jorge Rodríguez on Pope Francis: We express our deep mourning

This Monday, the vice-president of Electoral Affairs of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Jorge Rodríguez, this time led the customary press conference of the National Directorate, in which he expressed the deep sadness that grieves the Venezuelan people after the physical departure of Pope Francis this Monday.

“We want to express our pain for the physical departure of Pope Francis, a generous Pope, who always put his anguish on poverty, inequality and always seeks the best for human beings,” he stressed.

Likewise, the Vice President of Electoral Affairs added: “We express our deep mourning and accompany around 2 million people for the change of Pope Francis's passage, the closest I have ever known to Catholicism.”

Jorge Mario Bergoglio, better known as Father Francisco, died this Monday, after suffering from bilateral pneumonia with polymicrobial infection at 07:35 local time (05:35 GMT) at his residence in Casa Santa Marta, the camerlengo, Cardinal Kevin Joseph Farrel, announced in a video message.
