Jorge Rodríguez: We are at your service President to, without giving in to provocations, to be firm in defense of peace

The president of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, highlighted the country's institutional strength to face the aggressions that U.S. imperialism is carrying out against Venezuela.

During his speech at the Council of State of the Nation, led by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, the head of the Venezuelan parliament ratified the patriotic position of the Legislative Branch for the defense of peace, independence and territorial integrity.

“This situation of escalating aggression puts all the powers of the Republic at their command to, without falling into provocations, to be firm in the defense of peace,” he emphasized.

He dismissed the “gross” accusations made by the United States Government against Venezuela and stressed that for Venezuelan institutions and the people it is an obligation and a right, “not only to defend peace, but also to defend the good name of Venezuelans who are decent and working people.”

“They talk about an addiction epidemic in the United States, and indeed it exists, but it is the product of opioids that were sold freely by the American pharmaceutical industry; they distributed 76 billion doses of opioids, pointing out that they did not pose any danger to consumers and created that pack of zombies that can be seen in the cities of that country,” he said.
