Lídice community volleyball league kicks off

This Saturday, January 25, the inauguration and first day of the community volleyball league Lídice took place on the court of the Campo Elías sector on January 23 in Caracas.
According to a press release published by the Ministry of Sports, the event brought together more than 110 athletes, coaches, and members of different sports organizations in the community, who were accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Sports Massification Juan Carlos Amarante.
The league is a tool that allows the recruitment of young sports talent, providing them with the opportunity to develop in local, regional or national competitions aimed at high performance.
Amarante highlighted the importance of sports for children, young people, adults and grandparents, and insisted that “it is necessary to ensure easy access to sports”.
” Today we are fulfilling the word given by President Nicolás Maduro and the Minister of Sports Arnaldo Sánchez to hold the communal sports games in their first phase with volleyball and then other sports will be added to it, such as basketball, kikimbol and combat sports exhibitions”
He also highlighted the importance of community sports development. “It is from here, in these spaces, that our future talented athletes can come out,” he said.
He also congratulated the coaches who day by day are together with children and young people training them and preparing them for future sports competitions.
