Mayor Meléndez: The People took to the streets as one voice to support President Maduro

This Saturday, a sea of people bathed the streets of Caracas in defense of national peace, of President Nicolás Maduro and in support of the results issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE).

During the mobilization, the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, congratulated the revolutionary people for not falling into the provocations of the extreme right.

“We have been mobilizing in the streets for four days and this Saturday our people took to the streets, as one voice, supporting our president Nicolás Maduro,” Meléndez said.

For her part, María Montserrat, assured that the people want Peace, to continue working, “that what the National Electoral Council said, which is the only institution of the Venezuelan State with competence to issue results in an election, be respected.”

“We continue to bet on building the country and we reject irresponsible calls from spokespersons of the Venezuelan right who call for violence, we are people of peace,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rosmari Villalobos, argued that President Nicolás Maduro is the only one who guarantees peace to all Venezuelans.

He also called on the extreme not to ask for more sanctions, we are all Venezuelans and “sanctions are not for one group, they are not for everyone.”

In addition, he assured that everything is normal, businesses, shopping centers are open, working. “We just want to keep working in peace.”

On the other hand, José Altuve, residents of the Macarao parish, confirmed his support for President Nicolás Maduro, who was re-elected by the majority of Venezuelans.

“We want to live in peace and we are not going to do what the United States says, this is a free and sovereign people. I tell my compatriots not to fall into provocations, let's continue working together for peace,” he added.
