As part of the conference “The Barracks Go to the Town”, the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, reported that 299 communes and circuits in the capital received the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

“Today here in Caracas, our communes welcome with joy the members of the Armed Forces in all its components. This day represents a true popular festival, where the militia people meet their soldiers in a demonstration of unity, formation and commitment to the defense of the homeland,” said Meléndez from the Lídice parish.

He specified that military personnel carried out training exercises in each parish, including theoretical training with weapons and practical exercises in community spaces.

“From Diana's touch, our soldiers came out excited to meet the people. This is the popular, military and police fusion that strengthens territorial cohesion. As our president says: maximum pressure, maximum preparation. And so are our people, aware of their role and ready to defend the nation,” he said.

In addition, he noted that of the training activities, the communities organized meetings with the FANB, including the preparation of collective sanccochos as a symbol of integration and brotherhood.

“Today is a holiday. Our people are happy to welcome the Armed Forces to their territory, to share, to train and to reaffirm their commitment to peace and sovereignty,” concluded the mayor.
