Ahead of the final phase of the National Community Games, scheduled from December 5 to 20, authorities from the state of Mérida met with Jesús Brito, director of Sporting Events at the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports, to review the logistical, operational and infrastructure aspects of the organization of the event.
The Andean region, together with Táchira and Trujillo, will host the final competitions. In this context, regional organizations coordinate efforts to comply with the guidelines issued by President Nicolás Maduro and Franklin Cardillo, head of the Sports Portfolio.
During the day, Brito met with Aileen Mujica, Director of the Government Office, and William Uzcátegui, Head of the entity's Sports Area, to define coordination mechanisms between participating delegations.
The ministerial representative explained that issues related to housing, food, hydration, mobility, medical care, housing, volunteering, cultural activities and information coverage were addressed.
As part of his program, Brito inspected the venues that will host the disciplines of gymnastics, taekwondo, athletics, basketball and table tennis. He also advised the spokespersons of the Ministries of Youth, Communes, Education and the Elderly on the guidelines for presenting advances in institutional integration, which will be evaluated at a future meeting, according to a press release from the Ministry of Sports.
The technical team is expected to return to Mérida in October to review the progress of the actions and continue the joint deployment towards the final phase.
The National Community Games involve girls, boys and older adults, with the participation of 335 municipalities, 5,336 circuits and 49,183 Community Councils, and will mark the conclusion of the national sports program before the start of the December celebrations.
