Midwives from indigenous communities and prominent health personnel in Amazonas shared knowledge

Midwives from indigenous communities in Amazonas and health personnel in the entity had a meeting to share and learn in an environment of respect and collaboration.
“The primary objective of the meeting was to integrate the ancient wisdom of midwives with modern medicine, seeking to improve maternal and child care in indigenous communities,” it was reported on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Health.
In the activity, 29 women, midwives from the Yekuana community and Creoles from communities such as Kumashiña, Yajatakuweña, Mawishiña, Manapiare and Alto Orinoco, participated in the day.
“This meeting not only represents a step towards improving health care, but it also symbolizes a commitment to respect and valorization of ancient traditions and knowledge,” the Health portfolio reported.
