The Sectorial Vice President for Policy, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stated that the explosives found in some warehouses, located in El Tigre, Anzoátegui state, if they exploded at the same time, would cause a lethal wave that would cover 911 meters.
“A poorly stored, poorly manipulated detonant would generate a lethal explosion and, due to the so-called 'sympathy' effect, everything that is here would fly, one after the other, there would be nothing left in 911 meters; that is, in almost a kilometer there would be nothing or anyone left,” he emphasized.
He also explained that shards (iron explosives) would reach up to 1,200 meters, they are “projectiles that, when exploded, are fired in any direction”.
In addition, Cabello Rondón indicated that among the elements found in the shed are: 724 cutters, 6,769 hollow-charged elements, 120 cord-type electric detonators, 228 pellet explosives, 76 primary lighters, 76, standard power box for plugging 12, 27 additional explosives, among others
