Minister Carlos Alvarado carried out a technical inspection at the Peripheral Hospital of Catia

The Minister of Popular Power for Health, Carlos Alvarado, this Friday, August 28, carried out an inspection of the Dr. Ricardo Baquero González Hospital, known as Periferico de Catia, to verify the optimal functioning of its facilities.

Alvarado toured different areas of the hospital and spoke with the director of the health center, as well as with the team of specialists, doctors and nurses.

The minister verified first-hand the operation and care of more than 160 emergency patients, according to a press release from the ministry.

The hospital has 80 hospital beds, five active operating rooms, 24 surgeons and 20 traumatologists.

After the double earthquake of last June 24, this health center showed an important immediate response, since it received a large number of patients from the state of La Guaira thanks to its proximity to the main road.

The ministry team deployed there also registered some requirements for air conditioning and the wastewater system, whose response will be given in the coming weeks, allowing the hospital to have greater operational capacity.
