Minister Héctor Rodríguez confirmed that the school year ends on July 18

The Minister of Popular Power for Education, Héctor Rodríguez, reaffirmed that the 2024-2025 school year will officially end next Friday, July 18, in accordance with the current academic calendar.

Through his social networks, he urged all institutions in the country to strictly comply with the 200 days of classes established by regulations, stressing the importance of respecting pedagogical times to guarantee the quality of the training process.

Newsletter number 27, published by the Ministry on its website, indicates that complementary activities (such as recovery days, degree events and leveling classes) will last until July 31, with some also scheduled for the month of August.

Rodríguez emphasized that academic periods should not be shortened, warning that practices such as starting classes in October and ending them in May compromise the continuity of learning.

He also clarified that the school calendar will not change despite the approach of the municipal elections of July 27, reaffirming the commitment of the school office to planning and complying with the schedule established since the beginning of the school year.

The official gazette urges educational institutions to organize inclusive promotional events, avoiding the application of economic criteria that could exclude students from school ceremonies. The call seeks to guarantee the right of all children and adolescents to close their school year with dignity and equity.
