Minister Lotartaro: Popular Youth Consultation will mark a democratic milestone on July 27

The Minister of Popular Power for Youth, Sergio Lotartaro, said that the Popular Youth Consultation, scheduled for July 27, is shaping up to be a historic milestone that will consolidate democratic exercise and youth leadership in the country's communal structures.

“This consultation is the great opportunity for young people to demonstrate their commitment to democracy, leadership and organization in each commune and community council,” he said during his participation in the Sin Truco Ni Maña program, where he stressed that the initiative emerges from a massive participatory process.

As detailed, meetings were held in more than 40,000 community councils nationwide, in which between 15 and 50 boys and girls participated per community. In the first phase, seven priority projects were selected per community council. “Today we can say that our youth chose more than 37,000 projects. This is a milestone in Venezuelan history,” he emphasized.

Lotartaro stressed that this is the first sectoral consultation directly promoted by organized youth, who assumed the commitment from the outset through teams such as the Youth Trabuco, the Socialist Youth and the Great Venezuela Youth Mission.

“The level of training and commitment is reflected in the quality of the proposals, which cover areas such as culture, sports, entrepreneurship and education. A prominent example is that of a community that proposed the creation of a language school with a multipolar approach,” he added.
