The Ministry of Popular Power for Youth, Sergio Lotartaro, asserted that the Bolivarian Government is defeating the media campaign that positioned the Venezuelan right that emigrating was the best thing and that there were many opportunities in other countries.
Lotartaro, during his participation in the program Sin Truco Ni Maña, hosted by the deputy Tania Díaz, said that he has spoken to many young people who are coming out of high school and most of them have no plans to go to college. On the contrary, they are already thinking about going to university.
“Young migrants understood from their own experience or from acquaintances that in another country they are being exploited for work, they have no right to education, to personal security, they have no right to almost anything,” he said.
He pointed out that the youth who fell into that media campaign are now making comparisons, in terms of opportunities for health, education, housing, even food, and they know that despite the blockade that we still have, in Venezuela there are more opportunities.
For her part, the deputy Grecia Colmenares, who was also a guest on the program, stated that the supposed American dream that they sold to young people through social networks became the worst nightmare for many.
Colmenares regretted what Venezuelans have had to go through abroad and invited them to return to their homeland. “Here they can develop their life projects, we know that there are given and real conditions for the full development of these projects,” he added.
In that regard, he quoted the words of President Nicolás Maduro: “We must transform what needs to be transformed in order to continue to advance.”
