This Friday, August 08, the Minister of Popular Power for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez, highlighted that thanks to President Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela has a method of communication in streets, networks, media, walls and radio bemba, which is a virtuous system of defense in the cognitive and communication fields and for confronting cognitive warfare.

“The method created by President Maduro is a virtuous system of defense in the cognitive, communicational and cultural fields,” he said after giving the conference Cognitive War: From Psychopolitics to Mental Domination to officers of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

He indicated that the conference focused on that letter sent by a French colonel to alert the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) about the cognitive war that is under way. In this regard, he specified that it has “its specific technological keys in the daily life of all human beings, it has to do with communication and information technologies; which are technologies in addition to social relations and knowledge”.

He pointed out that technology went from the era of the masses, “which was aimed at entire peoples, entire communities, to a technology that today is capable of interacting directly with each of the individuals in a population (...) this creates a situation of vulnerability for the entire world and therefore we have to be at the forefront of this knowledge”.

For this reason, he pointed out that “cognitive warfare does not consist in making you believe something else or making you change your mind or thoughts, but rather in degrading from a neurological point of view the processes where knowledge is produced and data is stored and we make decisions”.

He reaffirmed that Venezuela has its own methods for confronting this war. “It is impossible for a Bolivarian to convince him to betray his homeland, because Bolivarianism is a reason for being (...) Venezuela has a popular culture, morality and military-police doctrine, capable of deploying and responding with peace.”

In the same way, he took the opportunity to praise the FANB, which is endowed with morals, with an offensive capacity to defend the Bolivarian Homeland, which also “permanently studies sociology, psychology and the sciences of war from a historical perspective and its profound Venezuelanity, which is the layer to fight against it.”
