Minister of Education instructs the formation of risk committees in schools

The Minister of Education, Héctor Rodríguez, announced that all schools and high schools in the country must form risk committees to prepare the educational community for natural events.

The announcement was made by the Francisco Pimente l National Educational Unit, in Caracas, where he explained that these committees must develop a protocol for the protection of lives, a risk map based on the environment and an agenda for action in the face of emergency situations.

“We are going to organize these teams, prepare the risk map and organize an agenda to reduce those risks, knowing what each one of them is and thus reducing them,” he said.

He also added that “80 percent of the population in Venezuela is in a seismic zone and we must prepare for that, to know what to do in the face of a fire, a flood or an earthquake, and the more organized we are and know what to do, the better the solution will be now.”
