Minister Rodríguez: We have increased the number of young people and children within the School System

The Minister of Popular Power for Education, Héctor Rodríguez, highlighted that the 19th National Student Sports Games, “are closing an extraordinary school year, which has been much better in quantity and quality, since we have managed to increase the number of young people and children within the School System.”

“We have increased school enrollment and the number of days and hours of classes given this year. We have also increased the number of teachers in training, as well as the number of schools recovered and equipped, and the number of children receiving the Food Program,” he said.

This was stated in Barquisimeto, in the state of Lara, on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the 19th National Student Sports Games, in which from this Tuesday 5th to August 16th, student-athletes from all over the country will be competing in 23 disciplines, at the venues of Yaracuy, Falcón and Lara.

In that regard, Rodríguez stressed that “everywhere you look, this school year has been much better, and I want to congratulate all the teachers, parents, representatives, organized communities and all the students who made it possible for education in Venezuela to continue to improve.”

He emphasized that in Venezuela the Education System seeks to serve young people in different cultural, academic and sports areas, “it is the main responsibility of all revolutionaries.”
