Ministry for Water rehabilitated La Chara Drinking Water Pumping Station in Miranda

The Ministry of Popular Power for Water Care (MINAGUAS) successfully completed the comprehensive rehabilitation of the La Chara Drinking Water Pumping Station, located in the La Peñita sector, Cristóbal Rojas municipality of Miranda state.

This is a project that makes it possible to optimize the supply of drinking water for 450,000 inhabitants of the municipalities of Cristóbal Rojas, Rafael Urdaneta and Tomás Lander.

The work consisted of the installation of three pumping groups with a total capacity of 700 hp, of which two are operational for a total flow of 650 liters per second (LPS), and one more as a reserve group. In addition, an 80 MVA transformer was installed, which significantly improves the stability of the electrical system in the La Chara Pumping Station , Pumping Station 32 and the Caujarito Water Treatment Plant, according to a press release .

The electromechanical rehabilitation of the infrastructure includes the installation of an annular passage valve, the rehabilitation of the power and control panels, and the painting of internal and external areas. In addition, the area for operators was renovated and a lighting system was equipped with both internal and external lighting to improve working and operating conditions
