Ministry of Health is preparing for Andean Border Vaccination Week 2025

The Bolivarian Government, through the Ministry of Popular Power for Health, announced the beginning of the deployment of a series of coordinated strategies to effectively address the country's border areas and carry out the Andean Border Vaccination Week (a community comprised of Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Bolivia, Peru and Venezuela).
Through a press release from the ministerial portfolio, it became known that Tania Yánez, Strategic Management Coordinator of the National Immunization Directorate, of the vice-ministry of Collective Health Networks, stressed that “the strategies to be followed to approach the vaccination scheme to the population are organized through the Comprehensive Community Health Areas (ASIC) of the municipalities of the indicated states”.
In the same way, he explained that the Andean Border Vaccination Week will take place from Sunday, August 17 to 24, and its motto is “ vaccines unite peoples, cross borders and save lives”.
The vaccine schedule covers the following biologics, BCG, Hepatitis B (pediatric), Pentavalent, Polio IPV, Polio BOPV, SRP (measles, rubella and mumps), Yellow Fever and Toxoid, and the target population to be vaccinated is: Boys and Girls, a key population for the basic vaccination schedule, essential for healthy growth; adolescents and older adults, age-specific vaccines; Indigenous communities, special attention for vaccine acceptance and pregnant women, protection for both mother and mother for the newborn.
