The Minister of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, Ricardo Molina, reported that Venezuela has joined the proposal of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (OTCA).
“We have scientists, technologists and universities who can contribute, in order to build a joint work route with the Amazonian countries and that is carried out in conjunction with the inhabitants of the Amazon,” said Molina.
During the COP30 in Belém do Pará, Brazil, Minister Ricardo Molina highlighted that the 1,788 indigenous Venezuelan communities will exercise environmental authority from the Municipal Government Chambers, with projects aimed at defending the Amazon.
The minister thanked the countries of the region for their solidarity and reiterated that, despite external threats, Venezuela will continue to peacefully defend the rights of Mother Earth.
