The Bolivarian Government of the Monagas state, with regard to the increase in the level of the Orinoco River, carried out a preventive and comprehensive care operation in areas close to the tributaries.
In this regard, the mayor of the Sotillo municipality, José Maldonado, toured the river and indigenous communities, ensuring an agile, coordinated and effective response to the weather conditions that this area has presented.
“During an exhaustive tour
we took through the seven river and indigenous communities in the areas,
we did not get any alerts, everything is normal, however, we are going to place a linear
dimension to constantly monitor the river level, through
various strategic points, sharing information in real time with regional and national
authorities,” said Maldonado.
The inhabitants of the area received primary medical care, in compliance with the guidelines given by the first regional president for the benefit of the communities.
“The absolute priority is the health and safety of our citizens. These days are a sign of the regional government's commitment to early risk management. We don't wait for the emergency, we're preparing for it,” said Maldonado.
