More than 1,000 people affected by rains and floods in the state of Amazonas have been treated by regional and state institutions in real time, the state's governor, Miguel Rodríguez, said Friday.

In this regard, he explained that several families in Puerto Ayacucho have been seriously affected by the flooding of the Orinoco River, as well as in the municipalities of Autana and Atabapo.

In addition, in El Paso del Burro, it was severely damaged. “Although the area belongs to the state of Bolívar, it borders Amazonas and allows passage and supply, so it has been a critical point,” he explained in statements offered to the State channel and replicated by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN).

The regional president stressed that the flood caused by the flooding of the Orinoco River is similar to the one that occurred in 2018, which was one of the strongest historic floods recorded in the state.
