More than 100 artisans were trained in the cycle of training workshops “Handmade in Venezuela” in the spaces of the Bolivarian Foundation for Informatics and Telematics (FUNDABIT), located at the headquarters of the Ministry of Popular Power for Education, in Caracas.

The activity was carried out by the Art Network Foundation in conjunction with the National Autonomous Service for Standardization, Quality, Metrology and Technical Regulations (SENCAMER). This first workshop was held virtually as well as in person, focusing on quality infrastructure and services. The attendees were trained in standardization, certification and metrology.

The president of the Red Art Foundation, Aracelis García Reyes, indicated that “the pilot plan began to be built a few months ago, due to the artisanal needs to standardize knowledge related to artisanal quality, packaging, design and billing.”

He also urged participants to familiarize themselves with the Law for Artisanal Development and Creation, and the Indigenous Crafts Act, both legal instruments that govern the sector.

The training plan is organized by the ministerial portfolio of Culture through the Art Network Foundation and the Artisan Heart Movement, and seeks to organize artisanal production and promote the cultural economy.
