More than 1,500 officials deployed in Caracas to ensure safety and cleanliness

The mayor of the Libertador municipality, Carmen Meléndez, reported that this Tuesday more than 1,500 people and more than 420 vehicles were deployed from Diego Ibarra Square in downtown Caracas, with the objective of providing security, cleanliness and order to the town.
Through his account on the social network Instagram, he indicated that this action is an instruction from the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, “which we are carrying out as a team, in a civic-military-police union, to guarantee a safe and peaceful Christmas in the territory of Caracas.”
He pointed out that the purpose is for “the people to feel sure that their security organs are protecting them and prepared for any contingency that comes our way.”
For his part, the commander of the Strategic Integral Defense Zone (ZODI) Capital, G/D José Ramón Figuera Valdez, assured that they will remain active during the Christmas season to guarantee peace and tranquility for the people of Caracas.
