At an event from the Courtyard of Honor of the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Army, a total of 2,234 first-year Cadets from the Bolivarian Military University of Venezuela received the patriotic and revolutionary inauguration by the Vice President of Defense and Sovereignty, GJ. Vladimir Padrino Lopez.

During the event, with the presence of the Military High Command and guests, the Minister of Popular Power for Defense also referred to the young people, who also received the replica of the Espadin of Grand Marshal Antonio José de Sucre, that wearing the uniform means an act of nobility, “it's not an outfit; it's a uniform that identifies the national identity that wherever he stands he will say here is a Cadet of the glorious and heroic Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB)”.

“A man of the people who came like you, young people, but ran into the frontispiece of the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Army and, from there, began to transform, envision and feed on the glories of our liberators to become the most important leader in the world and of Venezuela in recent years,” the head representative of the FANB recalled.

“A man who dedicated himself full time to protect that people out there who see and observe us,” he said.

The General in Chief also said that Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez became the military and political leader that will continue to be an example to emulate in posterity and future generations.

“Go ahead, young people, don't faint; when we stumble along the way: get up, walk, jog, run, live and demand to liberate Venezuela,” said the Minister of Defense to the invested Cadets, who also urged them to follow the example of the glories of the Liberators of America and Venezuela.

Before concluding his speech, the highest military authority addressed the families of the young soldiers who accompanied the event and reflected before them on the fundamentals of moral support in this arms race, which involves human sacrifice

In that sense, he stressed that the Cadet must learn to love that uniform with the verb, attitude, and permanent example, in any space, “because you are military all the way”, so he called on them to emulate the courage of the Father of the Fatherland, Simon Bolivar.

He also said that this ceremony is one of the noblest that takes place in the military staging, “it is therefore about the inauguration of the Cadet (...) the military career always implies a deep aspiration for a noble homeland, that is what we, the soldiers of Venezuela, aspire to”.

The occasion was propitious for the General in Chief to convey the greetings of the Commander in Chief of the FANB, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and to announce the name of this promotion, which, by decision of the Expanded Superior General Staff, was designated as the “Bicentenary of the Liberator of the Liberator” in recognition of the heroine Manuelita Sáenz for her living example to this generation.

Cadet forever

The event, where the Cadets were also sworn in before the National Flag to comply with the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, military laws and regulations for the defense of sovereignty, coincided with the 53rd anniversary of the inauguration of Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez Frías.

“We invoked him because that soldier, Hugo Chávez, knew how to teach, he knew how to build a Bolivarian National Armed Force, he knew how to found a new Military University.

“A man who dedicated himself full time to protect that people out there who see and observe us,” he said.
