More than 600 athletes are touring the city of Caracas, this Friday, in the peace rally organized for the enjoyment of the people, as reported by the mayor of the capital, Carmen Meléndez.

In statements offered from the Llaguno Bridge, the starting point of the great mobilization, he indicated that cyclists would travel 26 kilometers, “half the city”.

“We started the month of January with a lot of activities. The first the concert, the second we had a great ride and today it's Ronda Por La Paz. In this race there are a lot of people from Caracas and visitors from other states, who visit us for the holiday season,” he said.

For his part, the Head of Government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, stressed that this recreational activity represents the “sporting and cultural spirit of the city of Caracas”.

“This is an alternative agenda for the enjoyment of those who may not be going to leave the city. That's why the President lent us the Miraflores Palace to play right here and go tour the city,” he said.

In the same way, Fernández invited the people of Caracas to go to Puente Llaguno and Urdaneta Avenue this Saturday to enjoy the parade of marching bands.
