More than 70 titles will be presented by The Dog and the Frog at FILVEN 2025

The Editorial El Perro y la Rana will present more than 70 new editorials in various genres: essay, poetry, narrative, chronicle and children's literature, among others at the 21st edition of the Venezuelan International Book Fair (FILVEN), which will take place from July 3 to 13 in the spaces of the National Art Gallery (GAN) and the Plaza de la Juventud, in Caracas.
Also, according to information from the Ministry for Culture, this year, Egypt will be the guest of honor at the event, and the honored state will be Guiana Essequiba, under the motto #LeerHumaniza.
In addition, the Publisher will join the special tributes to fundamental figures of Venezuelan thought and culture with the presentation of books by Judith Valencia, Esteban Emilio Mosonyi and Gonzalo Fragui.
Regarding his next canonization, scheduled for October of this year, the titles José Gregorio Hernández. Caballero de la Fe, by Luis Javier Hernández, and Elements of Philosophy, the only work published in his lifetime by José Gregorio Hernández himself, are especially important because they reveal a much wider dimension of the doctor of the poor.
Another new feature is the book Héctor Lavoe. La Voz del Barrio, a biography of the Puerto Rican singer written by Colombian researcher Sergio Santana Archbold, which explores the lights and shadows of this great salsa icon.
A title to highlight in the editorial offer of The Dog and the Frog is the essay Presidential Diplomacy. Visits by Hugo Chávez Frías to Iran (2000-2010), an essay that analyzes an important part of the history of strategic relations between Venezuela and the Middle East.
In indigenous representation , Colors in the Wayuu worldview, by Marilin Echeto, is a work written in the field of bilingual intercultural education, which offers a sensitive and documented view of the visual symbolism of the Wayuu people.
Another title that will be presented by the publisher is Armed Assault on the Museum of Fine Arts, by Élida Salazar, a historical essay that reconstructs the episode starring the FALN in the 1960s, when five works by great masters—Picasso, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cézanne and Braque—were taken hostage to denounce the repression of the Romulo Betancourt government.
The Dog and the Frog program during FILVEN 2025 includes a wide variety of activities, from book presentations and talks to youth and children's workshops.
