Municipal Games begin municipal phase

The Ministry of Popular Power for Sports held a meeting with the presidents of regional sports institutes to discuss the progress of the National Community Sports Games that are preparing the start of the second phase starting next October 20 in all the states of the country.

The initial stage of the Community Sports Games began in the middle of last September and ended on October 10, which is why the highest representatives of the sport by state were summoned to organize the next stage that begins this Monday.

“We are taking stock of the first stage of execution of what the Community Games are. This phase involved the participation of all the boys and girls from our communities between the ages of 10 and 12 in 27 sports disciplines. We have already completed this first part, we are now going to a second phase, which is the municipal phase,” said the Minister of Sport, Franklin Cardillo.

The head of the sports portfolio commented that, together with the presidents of the institutes and the community officials, the coordinations are continuing for the launch of the next phase of the National Community Games scheduled to take place from October 20 to November 9.

A total of 27 sports modalities are included in the program of games that include combat sports, competitive art, ball, weather and brand sports, adapted sports, traditional games and physical and recreational activities.

In addition, these competitions will take place in their final, national phase, the states of Mérida, Táchira and Trujillo from December 7 to 17.
