The head of Government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, stressed that the day “Barracks go to the People”, held this Saturday, September 20, throughout the country, constitutes a historic reference in Venezuela, representing the mobilization of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) towards communities, in an exercise of coordination and Civic-Military Fusion, which demonstrates that in the face of any aggression, the People are willing to defend the Republic.

“We are making history, an Armed Force full of People and a Town full of its Armed Forces,” he said during a telephone contact through Venezolana de Televisión.

“Today our message became clear: the FANB and the People are more united than ever. And that sends a strong signal to the international scene, especially to those who attack us: no matter what happens, there is a people willing to defend our Republic,” he emphasized.

In that regard, he emphasized that this day shows how the Bolivarian Revolution has transformed the concept of the FANB.

“When the military came out on February 27, 1989, it was with the order to assassinate the people. Notice how the Revolution has transformed the whole concept, now the military and the people are one family, one person, one historical subject,” he said.

Fernández stressed that during this initiative, young people, women and older adults participated actively in neighborhoods, fields and large cities, who assumed the defense of the Homeland, sovereignty and independence in the face of imperial aggressions.
