National Art Gallery inaugurated exhibition “Transformations: Humanity”

The National
Art Gallery (GAN) inaugurated last Saturday, August 9th, the exhibition
“Transformations: Humanity”, which served as the setting for the award ceremony of the second edition
of the Creators Contemporary Art Competition, a
collaboration between the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), Volante Studio and GBGart.
The event was
led by the Deputy Minister of Arts, Image and Space of the
Ministry of Popular Power for Culture, Mary Pemjean, who applauded the initiative
of the contest, which this year received proposals from 415 women, of
whom 89 were shortlisted to be part of the exhibition.
She also
stressed the importance of female visibility in art and stressed that the
competition accommodates both established artists and emerging talents.
In addition, he invited citizens to visit the exhibition, which will be open to the
public until next November, to enjoy the diversity and
quality of the works.
For her part, the general
secretary of CAF, Alejandra Claros, expressed her gratitude to the national
government for supporting an event that was born out of conversation between
women and that has managed to expand.
“They have
to be proud and proud because from Venezuela a contest
for women and for contemporary art was created and it was exported,” she said, mentioning that
the initiative has already arrived in Paraguay.
He also reiterated the call made by Deputy Minister Pemjean to the
population to visit the exhibition and “be extremely proud of what
they have in Venezuela.”
The evening culminated with the musical presentation of Ensemble B11, which delighted the audience with its repertoire, putting the finishing touch to a day dedicated to art and female talent.
