During a special session commemorating the Bicentennial of the Creation of Bolivia, the president of the National Assembly (AN) Jorge Rodríguez emphasized the historic nature of this event, which transformed the landscape of the American continent and encouraged the formation of free and sovereign nations.
He emphasized that Bolivia was born out of a project promoted by the Liberator Simon Bolivar, conceived as a model country of freedom.
“For him (Bolívar) it formed a reason for life and an experiment for Homeland where men and women were free and we are here on the feast of the birth of Bolivia and the celebration of the Glory of the greatest man in Latin America,” he said.
Rodríguez indicated that during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, the Peoples of America suffered from the exploitation of the Spanish Empire, but that thanks to the heroic deeds of Father Liberator, now part of the region has sovereign nations.
“From your Liberator blood came peace, bread and wheat, from you will always emerge the world we want of freedom, of free men and women, without slaves, with independence and sovereignty,” he emphasized.
