More than 300 schools and high schools across the country are being rehabilitated by the National Government during the vacation period, said the Deputy Minister of Facilities and Logistics of the Office of Education, Willian Gil. During a meeting with the national coordinators of the Foundation for Buildings and Educational Endowments (FEDE), Gil explained that they defined actions and guidelines for the new school year. In addition, FEDE coordinators were informed about the priorities for this period, with an emphasis on optimizing resources, strengthening school infrastructure and special attention to areas of greatest vulnerability. “We are preparing to start the school year with more than 300 rehabilitated schools (on vacation). I ask you to do your best to ensure quality spaces for our children,” he said. He added that these educational institutions that are being worked on during the month of August are the result of a joint effort by the national, regional, municipal and People's Power, through the communes, which have joined forces to improve school conditions before the start of the new school year. The coordinators agreed that commitment and joint action between authorities, communities and educational staff will be key to ensuring that all students can start the new school year in a safe, motivating environment full of learning opportunities.
