The Bolivarian Government was deployed in six municipalities of Lara to respond to emergencies due to the rains this weekend, said the governor of the central-western state, Adolfo Pereira.

According to a note from the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), Pereira noted that Tropical Wave 51, which passed through the center-west of the country, caused heavy rains, which “affected six municipalities in our state.”

He mentioned the case of the Tamaca de Iribarren (Barquisimeto), Cabudare de Palavecino, Siquisique de Urdaneta, Yacambú de Andrés Eloy Blanco (Sanare) and Anzoátegui de Morán (El Tocuyo) parishes, as well as Chiquinquirá, Reyes Vargas, Camacaro and Castañeda de Torres (Carora), which were flooded by the rains.

Pereira said that “sectors of these parishes are being served, with the deployment of machinery, Civil Protection personnel and the social development area of the government and municipalities, to deal with emergencies,” especially road obstruction and flooding of homes and commercial premises.
