“There are absolutely deranged people calling for a civil war, let's never underestimate a madman or a crazy person calling for a confrontation between Venezuelans, for an invasion.”

This was the alert made by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to governors and mayors, during the installation of the Federal Government Council, where he reported that “there are people conspiring” against peace in the country.

He specified that these plans that seek to destabilize the country's peace have as their components drug trafficking, the remnants of criminal gangs and funding from the United States.

“There are people here conspiring, tomorrow Diosdado (Cabello) is going to talk about that topic at a meeting (...). There is a nefarious equation that has three components that have come together, that we have contained and defeated, but we cannot dismiss them; the Colombian Uribista drug trade, the criminal gangs that still survive out there and the fascist conspiracy financed from the United States,” he warned.

He highlighted the daily efforts of the Bolivarian Government to guarantee the defeat of these plans and guarantee peace in the country.

“I know what I'm talking about and I know what it cost to guarantee peace, and we have applied (José) Martí's maxim: in silence it had to be. But we must understand that peace is for everyone, it is a great benefit. Independence and peace are the most precious assets that Venezuelans have at this time,” he emphasized.
