The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Monday, January 27, highlighted that the Bolivarian Government, faced with criminal sanctions and the blockade imposed by the United States government, has managed to lift the country's economy with the support of public and private companies, peasants and entrepreneurs.

“With our own efforts, without depending on anyone, we have succeeded in uniting the entire business community, encouraging entrepreneurs and freeing up the country's productive forces,” he said.

In this regard, in a special interview with the journalist and political analyst of Opera Mundi, Breno Altman, the head of state explained that “with a very clear plan, we mainly serve the people's food through the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP)”.

“This was the first thing, to bring food to the people,” he said.

He explained that “then, protect the social missions created by Commander Hugo Chávez. Then, with an economic development plan, we define strategic engines, to stimulate the country's real economy.”

“As of today, we have 15 quarters of growth, the country is 100% supplied with domestic products. We managed to control hyperinflation, which reached 344,000% in 2019,” he said.

He also emphasized that the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) states that Venezuela, during 2024, was the country with the highest growth in Latin America and the Caribbean; with 9 points of growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
