“The Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity (REDH) strongly rejects the aggressive escalation of the United States Government against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (...) condemns baseless and fallacious accusations made by the Attorney General of that country, Pamela Bondi, who seek to link him, without any evidence, to criminal organizations linked to drug trafficking. Faced with such threats and violations of the law, we express our solidarity with President Nicolás Maduro, with the people and the Government of Venezuela”, highlights the text.

In addition, in the document, they repudiate all forms of interference, coercion and incitement to violence that the United States Government imposes and promotes. Below is the full statement:

*Appeal in defense of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros*

The Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity (REDH) strongly rejects the aggressive escalation of the United States Government against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which is expressed in the illegal and procacious announcement of offering a reward for information that would undermine the integrity of the legitimate and constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro Moros; and condemns baseless and fallacious accusations by the attorney general of that country, Pamela Bondi, who seek to link him, without any evidence, to organizations crimes related to drug trafficking.

Faced with such threats and violations of the law, we express our solidarity with President Nicolás Maduro, with the people and the Government of Venezuela, as well as with the militancy and leadership of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, with the communal and social power, with the entire socio-political fabric of that country that is committed to building peace as the axis of international relations and as a form of internal and external coexistence.

We strongly repudiate all forms of interference, coercion and incitement to violence that the Government of the United States imposes and promotes; and we warn of a new interventionist offensive against the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela. In recent days, several terrorist attacks were neutralized, such as the one that was intended to be carried out in Plaza Venezuela, in Caracas, and arsenals of weapons and explosives were discovered for destabilizing purposes.

We demand respect for international norms that guarantee the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples as central elements of coexistence between countries.

We call on all peoples of the world, on movements defending peace and human rights to remain vigilant in the face of intelligence, cognitive warfare and similar operations, which are deployed to generate disinformation and negatively influence public opinion about Venezuela.

We call on regional organizations and peace defenders to protect the life of President Nicolás Maduro, as the best way to decisively defend peace in Venezuela and in the region, as expressed in the CELAC Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.

The anti-imperialist struggle for Venezuela is a fundamental part of the battle for the peoples of our America.
