Network of young parliamentarians condemned imperialist aggressions against President Nicolás Maduro

The Network of Young Parliamentarians issued a statement condemning the imperialist aggressions against President Nicolás Maduro and expressing its absolute support for the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Below is the full text of the Communiqué:

The Network of Young Parliamentarians and Parliamentarians of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, a body for coordination and youth legislative work at all levels of the country, raises its voice to firmly and decisively reject the new interventionist actions of the United States government, aimed at violating the peace, stability and democratic institutionality of our Homeland.

From the Federal Legislative Palace, the sacred enclosure where the Venezuelan Act of Independence rests, an eternal symbol of the break with colonial chains, we remember that our freedom was conquered with great sacrifices, confronting and defeating yesterday's imperialism, which is the same one that today seeks with its claws to attack our sovereignty. We are direct heirs to the immortal feat of independence and, therefore, inalienable guardians of that legacy. Every stone of this Parliament bears witness to the fact that the Venezuelan people have never bowed to foreign powers and will not do so now. The same spirit that inspired Bolívar, Sucre, Miranda and our patriotic heroines lives on in the young legislators, committed to defending with laws, with the word and, if necessary, with life, the sovereignty of our nation against any attempt at domination.

The recent and unfounded accusations and measures announced by the U.S. Attorney's Office — without any legal support — constitute a new attempt to stimulate extremist sectors and attack the constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro Moros, the legitimate leader of the Bolivarian Revolution. Faced with this aggression, we reaffirm that Venezuela is a free and independent nation, with a people that legislate, work and defend their sovereignty without accepting blackmail based on lies and manipulation.

From the Network of Young Parliamentarians and Parliamentarians, we confirm our absolute support for President Nicolás Maduro, elected by the sovereign will of the Venezuelan people in free, plural and transparent elections on July 28, 2024.

We also denounce the criminal nature of unilateral coercive measures that directly affect the integral development of our youth and the future of the nation.

As representatives of the people in different legislative bodies from the National Parliament to the communal Parliament, we reaffirm our commitment to the defense of independence, self-determination and participatory and proactive democracy. No imperialist maneuver will stop the path to a prosperous, just and equitable Venezuela that we are building for present and future generations.

We demand that the United States government cease its policy of interference and aggression, and respect the sovereignty of the people of Bolivar, their Constitution and their inalienable right to decide their destiny.

With the strength of our history, the conviction of our laws and the commitment of Venezuelan youth legislators, we affirm:
