“Night Route For Peace” in Caracas will honor the legacy of Blessed José Gregorio Hernández this Saturday

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of La Candelaria and the Office of Vice-Postulation for the Cause of Canonization of Blessed José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros invite a special “Night Route for Peace”, to be held in Caracas, this Saturday, October 4 at 6:00 p.m., honoring the life of the “Doctor of the Poor” on the eve of his next canonization, October 19, 2025.

The tour, which will start from the Divine Pastor Church, seeks to recall the steps that Dr. José Gregorio Hernández used to take daily, turning a journey of faith into a path of light.

Father Gerardino Baracchini, pastor of the aforementioned Sanctuary of La Candelaria and Vice Postulator of the cause, extends a cordial invitation: “We invite the parishioners to accompany us in this activity with the blue and white candle, burning. Let us make this journey a path of light, which continues to ignite in love, prayer and family all the believing people who await their canonization”.

The route will follow the following emblematic points in the life of the future saint: Divine Pastora Church, José Gregorio Hernández House Museum; Vargas Hospital, where he practiced his profession; Servants of the Blessed Sacrament, Mother House of the Order of the future Holy Mother Carmen Rendiles; Plaza Bolívar in Caracas; Church of La Candelaria, where his remains rest.

The participation of the community in this route strengthens the spirit of unity and hope, preparing hearts for the historic ceremony that will make José Gregorio Hernández the first saint in Venezuela.
