The Zulia Children's Singing Institute is refining its preparations to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a series of projects, in order to consolidate its position as a reference in musical and cultural education in the region, the information was provided by the director of the institution, Father Richard Colmenares.

During a press conference, he noted that the Coral, which recently represented Venezuela in a global competition in Europe, has made significant progress thanks to the commitment and dedication of its members.

He highlighted the importance of this training experience for young musicians, who had the opportunity to perform in prestigious concert halls and receive the recognition of Pope Francis.

Among the most outstanding projects, he mentioned the total recovery of the Teatro Escuela de Niños Cantores, thanks to the support of the Bolivarian Government, which is an emblematic work and will be a multifunctional space that will host sports, educational and cultural activities.

In addition, work is under way on the construction of the Tower, a modern building that will have rehearsal rooms, a dance school and an observatory.

“Our vision is to train a thousand children in the coming years and to that end, we are adapting our facilities and designing innovative educational programs that combine musical tradition with new technologies,” he explained.

Regarding the commemorative activities, the Zulia Children's Singing Choir will participate in the Mass of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá, this November 18, performing a special repertoire that includes an original composition by its director, Jean-Louis Lefebvre Mayor.

It will also be attended by the Apostolic Nuncio, Monsignor Alberto Ortega Marin, who will visit the Institute and participate in the religious celebration.

On the other hand, on its account on the social network Instagram, the Choir invited the Town for this coming Friday, November 08, to celebrate piper's day from the Basilica Square starting at 6:00 pm.
