With more than 65% of the votes on route two, and a participation of more than 80% in the National Consultation, the Ecuadorian people said “no” to the reforms promoted by the far-right president Daniel Noboa.

The results show that 61.5% of voters are against convening a Constituent Assembly, while only 38% supported the proposal.

The consultation included four main questions. The first evaluated the installation of foreign military bases in Ecuadorian territory. The second is to reduce the number of members of the National Assembly. The third is to eliminate state funding for political parties. The fourth, to create an arbitration system for contract management and the fifth, to convene a Constituent Assembly to reform the Constitution of 2008.

With this, Ecuadorians maintain the 2008 Constitution and reject changes that could modify the country's political and legislative structure, in the midst of the unpopularity of the current president.
