The mayor of the Libertador municipality, Carmen Meléndez, reported that 32,000 people from the Ojo de Agua sector, in Sucre parish, benefited from the deployment of Operation Caracas Smile.

“We are here listening and resolving together with the people. This territory is the fourth axis of the Sucre parish that we address, and now we focus on the communal circuits Guerrera and Guerreros de Ojo de Agua, Chávez Por Siempre and Guaracarumbo,” he said.

During the day, he noted that the operation, which will last for two consecutive days, has the support of 22 State institutions, offering specialized medical services, optometry, clinical laboratory, lens delivery, social assistance and infrastructure improvement.

He noted that in addition to mobile clinics and pharmacies, the deployment includes actions to improve housing conditions and the urban environment: road signs, street rehabilitation, painting and roof replacement. “When we complete this phase, these houses will be ready for the installation of new self-government rooms,” said Meléndez.

The mayor also stressed that the operation is part of the Concrete Agenda for Action that responds directly to the priorities identified by the communities.
