This Tuesday, opposition political organizations formalized, before the National Electoral Council (CNE), the registration of their candidates for mayors and councilors for the elections next July 27.
Democratic Action (AD), Committee for Independent Electoral Political Organization (COPEI), Popular Democratic and National Democratic Confederation (CONDE) were four of the organizations that presented their standard-bearers for 2,806 positions that will be elected in the coming elections.
It is important to remember that this Tuesday, July 17, the process ends for the different political organizations in the country to formalize the nomination of their candidates.
Earlier, the president of the National Electoral Council, Elvis Amoroso, said that this nomination action is included in the established schedule for the execution of the upcoming elections, in which, in his opinion, he will once again express his commitment to democracy.
“The application process will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of article 59 of the Organic Law on Electoral Processes. The Electoral Power is the only body empowered by the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to organize, for the administration, direction and surveillance of all acts related to the election of positions of popular representation in the Public Powers, as well as referendums,” he emphasized.
