The rehabilitation of the Santa Ana Outpatient Clinic in the El Cojo sector and the intervention of the El Teleferico Outpatient Clinic, both in the Macuto parish, stand out as projects implemented after the two national popular consultations of 2024, benefiting more than 4,000 families residing in the territory of the Guaicamacuto Commune.
During an inspection of the works, Deputy Blanca Eeckhout, president of the Permanent Commission for the Development of the Communes of the National Assembly, stressed that these initiatives are proof of the people's leadership in the construction of the new Communal State. “The People's Power, with the support of President Nicolás Maduro, has demonstrated its capacity to implement projects that respond to the most felt needs of communities, such as the comprehensive rehabilitation of these outpatient clinics in just 45 days,” he said.
As reported by the newspaper Úlmas Noticias, Martha Berroterán, director of communes in the state of La Guaira, highlighted the impact of popular consultations on project planning. “In the first consultation, we managed to treat 182 families with roof repairs, complying to the letter with what was approved by the communities. In the second consultation, we prioritized the reconstruction of outpatient clinics, achieving successful results with the comprehensive support of popular power and health institutions,” he explained.
The works in the outpatient clinics included the rehabilitation of ceilings, floors, walls, electrification and improvements to their environment, together with the recovery of Plaza Bolívar in the community of El Cojo. According to Eeckhout, these achievements reflect “a true participatory democracy, where the People exercise power and provide solutions from their territory”.
They assured that with these advances, “the People's Power reaffirms its commitment to the efficient management of resources and the transformation of communities, consolidating a governance model based on the direct participation of citizens.”
