As part of the Conference “The Barracks Go to the People”, the Vice President of Defense and National Sovereignty, Vladimir Padrino López, highlighted the deployment of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) as an expression of closeness, commitment and unity with the Venezuelan people.

Padrino López emphasized that, thanks to the initiative of Commander Hugo Chávez, the FANB has adopted a new military doctrine deeply rooted in the People. “That civic-military union that began to take shape has today become a popular, military and police fusion. It's a great strength that we have built in revolution,” he said.

He noted that that day represents a milestone in the Venezuelan military revolution. “We are writing a true military revolution, with all the people and the Armed Forces together. I imagine the military chiefs of other countries wondering what is happening in Venezuela, seeing our generals and admirals in the streets, embraced with their people, instructing the militiamen, the communes, the communal circuits,” he said.

He reiterated that Venezuela is marking a turning point in the consolidation of its defense doctrine.

“This doctrine grows, develops and expands every day, to guarantee the sovereignty and peace of the country,” he concluded.
